Back to Berko!

September is here and we're relocating back indoors to weatherproof our skate night :-)

Our regular Thursday evening Jam Skate sessions took a hit over the summer with one thing and another but we are rearing to go starting back up at Berkhamsted Leisure Centre from 7.30-9.00pm Thursday 3rd September.

We have hired 2 courts guaranteed space but will look to expand it if our numbers permit. If you've not skated at the leisure centre before you are in for a treat. The floor is super hard and super smooth, a skaters wet dream...

The session cost is £10.00 but there is option to subscribe to two sessions a month at £17.50. Being a member of The Middle Eight also unlocks a cheaper member price of £8.00 per additional Skate Jam session in the month and reduced entry to the Monthly Roller Disco at £10.00 vs the standard £12.50 entry price.

If you are a Die-Hard The Middle Eight supporter full membership at £45.00pm unlocks access to ALL Thursday night sessions including the Monthly Roller Disco.

Street Skates hosted by The Concrete Cowboys

Graded street skate routes tested and led by the awesome @arronfarmer

Arron has been running these little streetskate meetups for a good few months now, generously sharing his time and local knowledge to guide skaters around some fantastic street spots in and around Hertfordshire. Recent locations include Watford, Abbots Langley and Leavesden.

If you're a little shy of the tarmac, don't worry just pad up and come on out on any of the supported beginner streetskates. We will make sure that you're looked after and get round in one piece 👌 It's an amazing sense of freedom, get out your comfort zone and give it a try!

How Wood Street Skate & Jam

Family Friendly skate meet up incorporating a beginner friendly street skate and chilled jamming on one of the smoothest outdoor surfaces you'll ever find.

Set up by @karlbarrett123 we've established an awesome skate and jam venue perfect for skate adults and their mini-me charges to hone street skating and jam skating skills in safety. With access to toilets and kitchen facilities, a freshly tarmaced car park and use of seating, Park Street Baptist Church in How Wood is the perfect start and finish to the beginner and kid friendly street skate.

Add floodlights and music provided by The Middle Eight we have the recipe for a banger of a family skate night for those looking to branch out beyond the Roller Discos.

Currently aiming to run these sessions fortnightly on a Friday but also looking at a weekend possibility with BBQ - so watch this space 👀!
